Eharmony Free Communication Weekend 2021
A commonly asked question that we hear in discussions about online dating is: “Is eharmony free?” (Free is everyone’s love language, right?)
In a word, no. While there are free online dating sites for Christians, eharmony is not one of them. Depending on the length of the membership plan that you choose, eharmony could cost you anywhere from $19.95 a month to $59.95 a month.

However, if what you’re looking for is an opportunity to test-drive the site, then there are several free options available to you.
- Some other things worth knowing, before you join eharmony, is that Dr. Neil Clark Warren, an American clinical psychologist, Christian theologian, and seminary professor, is the heart and soul behind eharmony, its compatibility test, its success, and its special promotions like Free Communication Weekend.

Here’s how you can get a free eharmony sample:
Create a profile.
It costs nothing to take the personality test and create a profile on eharmony. You can receive matches, view their profiles, and get an overall feel for the site for free. But if you want to see those matches’ photos or if you want to communicate with them beyond guided, multiple-choice questions, it’s going to cost you.
Unless…
It’s Free Communication Weekend.
Usually around holidays or other special times of the year, eharmony will host a Free Communication Weekend. Basically, if you have a profile on the site, you will be allowed to communicate with your matches for free as long as the weekend lasts. You’re even able to email back and forth with them through the site. The catch? You can’t see pictures unless you’re a paying member. It’s definitely not ideal, but it is free.
But there’s one other way to experience a free eharmony. And by a “free eharmony,” we mean fully-functioning site for free:
And that’s if you use an eharmony free trial membership.
If you’ve never created an account on the site and you want to try it out—all the bells and whistles, photos, communication, everything—then you can try a free trial membership. However, they’ll want you to give them your credit card info, because of course, they want you to stick around after the 3 days are up. So be sure to read all of the details and the statute of limitations on the free trial membership, or you might find that you’re a paying member without even realizing it. (If you do decide to go the free trial membership route, be sure to read our tips before starting.)
So back to the original question: Is eharmony free?
Again, no. But if you want a simplified version, there are options available that will cost you nothing. Granted, you’re less likely to find true love using those options, but we’re sure stranger things have happened!

What You Actually Get
After filling out the extremely long questionnaire that’s required to be an eHarmony user, you soon find out that an eHarmony free weekend isn’t so much a trial as it is a tease.
Can you see and evaluate matches on an eHarmony free weekend?
No.
The big catch here is that you can’t see anyone’s photos, and they can’t see yours either.

Can you message matches on an eHarmony free weekend?
No, not really.
You can use their “guided communication questions” (with multiple choice answers), but you can’t actually send or receive messages.
An eHarmony free weekend user, Yvette, describes her experience
Eharmony Free Communication Weekend 2020
I sent Dave a free, “Looks like we have a lot in common. Let’s Chat” message along with stupid 5 canned questions with their multiple choice answers.
He responded by sending me two things. First, he sent a canned flirt reply that suggested I post my photo. Second he “skipped to email.” Well, I had posted a photo, but, apparently, he’s unable to see it, since I’m not a paying member. I had no way of telling him that, so I’m sure he’s figuring I’m ugly, insecure, or ignoring him. And since I’m not a paying member, I wasn’t even able to read his email.
In fact, the ONLY thing I could do was Decline his email (unless, of course, I wanted to pay $50 and join eHarmony.) And there was no way to even let him know that I was declining his email because I wasn’t a paying member! Instead, I felt like I was just being rude. Someone took the trouble to write me an email after I suggest “let’s chat” and I have no option but to Decline and I can’t even let him know why!
So, what do you think? Is eHarmony’s free weekend misleading advertising or a full-blown scam?
No matter, eHarmony is certainly wasting a lot of people’s time and effort. Hopefully eHarmony will come around to offering more transparent promotions in the future.
